Barcodes
In an attempt to manage these growing sales better, we have decided to transition to a barcoded system.  We are very excited about this change.  The main advantages will be noticed at the end of each of the sales.

Instead of sorting and handling the cards of sold items several times before tabulating the checks, cards will be scanned and sales attributed to the appropriate consignors immediately.  The use of a computer to help us with this information will allow us to calculate and write checks to our consignors much faster and with little risk of error.

If you have already tagged items by the old system, not a problem!  We will try to assist with this transition and provide sticker barcodes for this first sale.  We will also send the sheet of master bar-coded tags for any items not yet tagged and for future sales.  You will need to hang on to this master sheet and make copies using a laser printer and heavy 67lb paper which is like the index cards we have used.  Office Depot and Kinko’s can help with this if needed.

What you need to do:
If you plan to participate in a sale, contact us to request barcode materials so that we can send the needed barcodes in time to tag your items for Drop Off.  Your consignor number will not change, so barcodes will be used from sale to sale and the same number and barcodes can be used for both the Children’s Closet and My Sister’s Closet.

Volunteers
We need our volunteers before, during and after the sales.  Our volunteers are the lifeblood of the Children’s closet and My Sister’s Closet.  The bigger we get, the more we need to work at maintaining organization and quality.  With the growth of the sale, we are looking for more moms, grandmas, even dads to help us as we try to keep up with the details which make the Children’s Closet the great, fun sale that it has become.

• Hanging out with fellow moms, grandmas even dads
• New faces, new friends
• A positive pleasant atmosphere where your help is valued and appreciated
• An opportunity to shop for your family BEFORE the sale opens.  Yes, this is the biggest benefit!

Volunteers: Choose 12 hours from the worker schedule in at least 2 hour shifts.
Super Volunteers: Choose 16 hours from the worker schedule in at least 2 hour shifts.

Our Super Volunteers will shop at 5 PM Thursday before the Saturday Presale.
Our Volunteers will shop at 6:30PM Thursday before the Saturday Presale.

The sale will open to our other consignors Saturday morning.

A few details as you decide whether to become involved:

• Volunteers and Super Volunteers are very much appreciated.
• All volunteers must make sure they can commit to a shift before signing up.  Once you have requested you volunteer shifts, please do not change or cancel your shifts except in case of emergency.
• Children must not accompany you when you come to volunteer or to shop at the early Volunteer Shopping Party on Thursdaybefore the Presale.
• Volunteer slots are filled on a first come, first serve basis.  Sign up early to insure you get your first choices.
